Conrad Bayer Guest Speaks at Technet for Financial Services

The implementation of strong authentication solutions has historically been relatively expensive, complex and typically not well integrated with the rest of an organizations IT Infrastructure. This has led to high cost implementations, project failures and in some cases customers simply not considering the technology. However, the business requirements for providing stronger authentication solutions continue and are becoming stronger in many respects, particularly within the Financial Services industry.

In response to market demand for more robust authentication solutions, Microsoft has released an identity management product called Identity Lifecycle Manager 2007 (ILM) that helps address many of these challenges by helping to implement and deploy technologies like digital certificates and smart cards. ILM 2007 provides a full featured digital certificate and smart card management capability that allows organizations to streamline deployment and on-going management in a policy driven way. This approach is cost effective and robust with many global organizations now deploying these technologies.

The purpose of this session is to introduce these features of ILM 2007 as related to the Financial Services industry. The session will include coverage on the benefits of Microsoft’s approach which includes tight integration with Active Directory® and other technology considerations such as smart cards. In order to show the ease of implementation and management of ILM 2007 the session will include a demonstration of the technology and discussion of on various approaches and strategies for deployment. This session will be valuable for anyone interested in learning more about Microsoft’s capabilities to help your organization deploy stronger authentication technologies.

The session will be delivered in combination between Microsoft and Avaleris – a Microsoft technology partner specializing in large scale strong authentication deployments. Avaleris has extensive experience helping global enterprises to deploy digital certificates and smart cards using Microsoft-based technologies. The speaker – Conrad Bayer – is also an ex-Microsoft product architect that worked on Microsoft’s Identity Technologies and has extensive experience in the industry.
