Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager (ILM) 2007 Technical Support & Services
With the proliferation of users and devices in an organization, along with a greater need to collaborate internally and externally, the task of managing digital identities has become far more complex. Organizations today have to deal with the complexity of distributed applications and data, internal and external security regulations, and with ensuring only authorized user have access to business assets and sensitive data.
Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager (ILM) 2007 provides an integrated and comprehensive solution for managing the entire lifecycle of a user’s digital identity that pulls together identity synchronization, smart card and digital certificate management, and user provisioning in one solution across Windows and other enterprise systems. ILM 2007 builds on the metadirectory and user provisioning capabilities in Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 (MIIS 2003) and adds new capabilities for managing the lifecycle of strong credentials such as smart cards and digital certificates (originally released in Microsoft Certificate Lifecycle Manager (CLM)).
The overall success and value realized by customers using ILM 2007 will be derived not only from the technology itself, but from the organization’s ability to successfully deploy and manage Identity Assurance solutions on an ongoing basis – in a manner that supports existing management policies, regulatory compliance and security practices as required by the business. While the use of smart card and digital certificate technologies provide an excellent approach to deploying strong multi-factor authentication – they can be challenging to deploy in large, highly distributed environments in a timely and cost-effective manner. ILM 2007 lowers the cost and reduces the complexities associated with smart cards and digital certificates by enabling enterprise organizations to more efficiently deploy, manage and maintain a certificate based infrastructure that integrates with Windows Server 2003 Certificate Services and Active Directory to provide a turnkey solution for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of smart cards and digital certificates.
The intent of this program is to assist corporate organizations, government departments and agencies who are conducting initial testing and assessments of Microsoft ILM 2007 in conjunction with its Release to Market in May 2007.
In order to assist organizations in the evaluation of the smart card & digital certificate capabilities of ILM 2007, Avaleris is providing the following services and information to qualified organizations:
- Limited ILM 2007 Technical Support at no charge
- ILM 2007 Live Product Demonstrations;
- Avaleris Professional Services
Avaleris was incorporated by founders of Alacris, the original developers of idNexus, which was acquired by Microsoft in late 2005, subsequently released as Microsoft Certificate Lifecycle Manager (CLM) and is now integrated with Microsoft ILM 2007 to provide smart card and certificate lifecycle management. Avaleris will continue to offer technical support and services to customers that are currently evaluating and/or using Microsoft CLM Beta 2 as announced in November, 2006 – as well as migration services to ILM 2007 when it becomes available to customers in May 2007.
