Avaleris Presents at the Public Safety Symposium: Policing in the 21st Century – Mississauga, April 1, 2010

Forefront Identity Manager Presentation Synopsis
Implementing an Identity and account management solution for Police Service organization can be a significant challenge, especially if strong authentication and smart cards are required. This seminar describes how to leverage Microsoft’s Forefront Identity Manager to address CPIC compliance challenges within a Police Services environment. A brief case study of York Regional Police’s planned deployment of FIM’s Certificate and Smart Card Management will be provided as well as other relevant examples of FIM’s use in high security environments. FIM’s ability to solve common identity management problems such as strong authentication, smart card and password self-service, account provisioning, and group management will also be explored. The seminar will also focus on the potential benefits of using: increased efficiency through automated provisioning, lower support costs through user self-service, and improved security and compliance through stronger authentication and greater auditability.
